EAQ FACILITATOR TRAINING COURSE LEADING TO THE OCNLR CERTIFICATE IN FACILITATING EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING LEVEL 4

 

This is a nine day training course for facilitators who wish to achieve the OCNLR Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning Level 4 (qualification number 603/0601/4).

 

Entry Requirements

You need to:

  • be over the age of 19
  • have had a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • have completed or be working towards the following three units:
    • Handling and Managing Horses in Equine Assisted Learning
    • Communication Skills for Facilitators of Equine Assisted Learning
    • Safeguarding in Equine Assisted Learning.

We will also need to assess your skills in English, Mathematics and Information Technology.

 

Who can enrol?

Only those people who have completed or are working towards the following three units are able to enrol on this course:

  • Handling and Managing Horses in Equine Assisted Learning
  • Communication Skills for Facilitators of Equine Assisted Learning
  • Safeguarding in Equine Assisted Learning.

 

I haven’t attended those units, what do I do?

If you haven’t attended any of the training listed above, then you need to register on one of the Introduction Days. See the Events page for more details.

 

What does the course cover?  

Course sessions cover the three units:

  • Planning Equine Assisted Learning
  • Managing Learner Behaviour in Equine Assisted Learning
  • Facilitate Equine Assisted Learning for Individuals and Groups.

There will be discussions, theory and practical activities as well as observed teaching practice, case studies and assignments. Your performance will be observed and you will be assessed while you are facilitating sessions as well as the other evidence presented in your portfolio.

 

Progression route

Once you have completed the OCNLR Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning Level 4 you may apply to become an EAQ Certified Facilitator or set up and run an EAQ Approved Equine Assisted Learning Centre.
